Do you love tags? Of course you do. How else would you find any photos on Flickr, or your future nerd-husband on Consumating.com? The idea of tags permeating everything is somewhat annoying to me: probably because I’m tired of seeing a million new Web 2.0esque sites popping up everyday. I have the unfortunate inability to refrain from joining things (sometimes things that haven’t even gone public beta yet…) so when I was pointed to 30daytags.com, I couldn’t resist.
Like del.icio.us and many other sites, you can view the tags in a giant cluster cloud. There, upon seeing something of interest, you click on the tag and bring up links that users have submitted that fall into that category (try “podcast” for example). The best part? After 30 days, the links expire. That way, according to the site, everything stays “fresh.” So far I’ve had a pretty good time looking around and seeing what people have added. But like most things I sign up for… I’ll probably be sick of it before my 30 days is up.

Aren’t you tired of this 2.0 bubble?
How will you remembers clouds of tag in 5 years time? Like pets.com?
Will you find your CoComments entries relevant or you’ll have forgive them just as your ancient ICQ history?
I find nice the design initiative, but not the over the top optimism of every one who says: “this new service will really change you web life”. Perharps, my new blog, my 2nd try at blogging will be lost and forgotten by 2009.
pS: nice design, I listen to your BOL each day
Web 2.0’s been around for a while, it’s called Flash. JK. But not really!
Hey Veronica,
I love your Buzz Outloud show and listen to it every day on my drive into work.
I just posted a thread on the forum about my Web 2.0 concept site called ESBN.ORG. It originated in your forum and is now being mentioned by Leo Laporte in episode 41 of TWIT.
Could you guys discuss my concept on your podcast and ask your listeners for additional feedback on ESBN uses other than the ones listed on http://www.esbn.org/esbn/what.asp
Thanks!
