I’ve had it.
TiVo officially sucks. If you haven’t heard the story thus far, I’m too frustrated to write it down again. The update is that after buying the correct adapter for my ethernet, the TiVo has decided that it will freeze every five minutes. Watching normal TV? It freezes. Recording a show? Freezes. Have the TV off for a little bit? Turn it back on, and it’s frozen. FANTASTIC! I’m glad I’ve wasted a week of my life dealing with this crap. Now I get to send it back for a new one. Oh yes, I will get a new one. AND IT WILL F&%#ING WORK!!

Wow. Um, V? Might I suggestion something …less caffeinated. Tea. Something in a Chamomille, perhaps. These things are frustrating, I know. The same thing happened to my cousin this past Christmas when he bought one for his mom. He couldn’t get it to work in the living room at all, but it kinda worked in her bedroom, which is weird. Leave us not get agitated because that cause nasties to crop up quite quickly. Breathe!

Yo V! Sweetie, don’t give up on Tivo! I have it – it ROCKS. The kids love it (heck, my 8 year old knows how to use it!). In fact, one of the necessities of life, even though I’m unemployed, is cable, internet (we get a combo deal) and Tivo! We use it every day, and honestly, I can’t remember the last program I watched in real time. Though, interestingly enough, I still will rewind for commercials that seem interesting enough! Hang in, it’s worth it!

Well, that’s why I have a ReplayTV… I like the concept of Tivo, but don’t really like Tivo boxes themselves… Too bad ReplayTV is getting out of the hardward business and selling their software to the various computer add-in tv tuner manufacturers…
It will only be a matter of time before they shut off my ReplayTV account and my replay box stops working, then I’ll either have to get a Media Center PC in the family room, or a Media Mac (or whatever it’s called by then if one ever shows up), or as a last resort, a Tivo…
Sorry you’re having trouble with yours… It shouldn’t be that way.

But… But… But TiVo is meant to make you happy!
Don’t get too worked up – it?s dumb so what – at least you still have TV. See it should be worse, the box could have caught fire and burned your lovely (I assume) home with all your other stuff, now that would be bad.
Be happy, your going to get a new one that will waste the rest of your life, not with problems but with high quality TV programming when you want it! ?
