I’ve had it.
9TiVo officially sucks. If you haven’t heard the story thus far, I’m too frustrated to write it down again. The update is that after buying the correct adapter for my ethernet, the TiVo has decided that it will freeze every five minutes. Watching normal TV? It freezes. Recording a show? Freezes. Have the TV off for a little bit? Turn it back on, and it’s frozen. FANTASTIC! I’m glad I’ve wasted a week of my life dealing with this crap. Now I get to send it back for a new one. Oh yes, I will get a new one. AND IT WILL F&%#ING WORK!!
Welcome, Sophie!
3Just a quick note to say congrats to my friend and podcaster Phillip Zannini , who (along with his wife, obviously) brought a very small and very pink little girl into the world yesterday. And here, in her Internet premiere, is Sophie.
CNBC loves YouTube
4Today, Brian Cooley was interviewed on CNBC about America Airlines and the subpoenas that they’ve given to Google and YouTube. According to news.com:
Someone uploaded part of a video used to train flight attendants on YouTube and Google Video. The airline subpoenaed those companies on Feb. 21 under the controversial Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), according to airline spokesman Tim Wagner. Under the provisions of the DMCA, companies have the right to request information in the event that their copyright materials are infringed upon.
The video in question, titled “Flight Attendant, Upside Down,” is under copyright, Wagner said.
Ok, that’s all well and good. Pretty interesting, right? Well during the taping, CNBC used some rather eye-catching b-roll for the part about YouTube.
This was it. Good choice, guys. Please keep in mind that this is going on while Brian is trying to discuss copyright and the DMCA and all that important stuff. So ridiculous.
So close… kind of.

The TiVo is so very close that I can almost taste it. It says that the estimated arrival date is the 9th (that’s tomorrrow!).
Sorry for the lack of posting today, nothing much interesting going on. There might, however, be a slightly drunk post later after Trivia Night. We’ll see.
