Sorry, guys, I couldn’t resist!
Five Things about Veronica that relatively few people know:
1. I am completely unable to watch anything I think might even be remotely scary. The movie is PG-13? Doesn’t matter. There’s a small child in the room telling me that this part “isn’t scary?” I don’t give a crap. I will hide behind a pillow, cry, and then finally escape in a blur of terrified panic.
2. I like pie. I really, really like pie (especially the fruit kind). I drove across the country once, and it was basically a Tour of Pie. You know, Denny’s has really decent lemon meringue. Who knew?
3. Secretly, I like it when it’s raining during the weekend. This is because it gives me an excuse to stay inside and play video games, and I don’t feel guilty for missing a nice day off.
4. When I was in college, I had almost crippling social anxiety. I couldn’t meet new people or go out very many places. I had such bad panic attacks that I would almost black out. Good times! Oh, I also have a phobia of belly buttons, but that’s unrelated.
5. When I was little, I collected tiny ceramic dogs. I had a little shelf full of them. Later, I got bored with dogs, and moved on to pigs.
Now that you think I’m a paranoid, pie-loving recluse, it’s your turn:
Ryan Block, Niall Kennedy, Eric Lin, Nicole Lee, Irina Slutsky
For the record, I was tagged by Drew.

Huh? I don’t get the game!
I was just thinking you had not posted for a while - or I have not stopped by for a while. Anyway, I should get to bed, its 7am here!
Just got home a little bit ago, and catching up on blog-reading.
FOR PIE - CRIXA:
I have been urged (and have yet to make it to) Crixa on Shattuck in Berkeley. Some have said it’s is THEE best pie on the entire planet. Shortly after I heard about Crixa, and was trying to tell someone about it but forgot the name, I said, “yeah, I heard there’s this amazing bakery making the world’s greatest pies, and the name sounds something like ‘cervix.’”
RAINY DAY VIDEO GAMES - XBOX 360 for $199:
I broke down and bought myself a Chrismakkah present in the form of an XBox 360 at Micro Center in Santa Clara since they’re offering, first, a $100 rebate, and second, if you sign up for their credit card, another $100 off any item $399 or higher. Wouldn’t ya know the Xbox 360 went for $399. Now I have one. God help me. I plan to get Viva Piñata. I want to raise a Hanukkah Piñata.
PARANOID, PIE-LOVING, RECLUSE:
You know, I think to many you come off as fearless. You take chances with your on-air choices, and even here on this blog. The risks you take turn out brilliantly for you.
Blog Tag….what a very cool concept. Very neat. Maybe I’ll get tagged he he. As far as Denny’s pie, I actually worked there during high school, they do dish it up good. Panic attacks just suck, they really do. I get ‘em all the time, and sometimes it affects what you do really. Well hope you enjoyed your country wide search for pies.
I have the worst anxiety too. It’s horrible. Where did you end up getting your confidence from?
I can agree with number three. I sometimes (when I have nothing better to do) hope it is going to rain so I can stay at home and play Video Games.
Veronica, do you have a PlayStation, or are you all Xbox 360?
BLazr
I actually blog tagged you too.
V, how did you make it through Snakes on a Plane???
I’m right there with you with 2,3 and 4!
Have you ever had the Razzleberry pie from Marie Calender’s? It’s fab.
Walker’s Pie Shop in Berkeley is good place to check out too.
“This must be where pies go when they die!” - Agent Dale Cooper (Twin Peaks)
#3, totally. and when you live in NY the winter temperatures allow you to use that excuse for 4 months! I’m impressed that you mention #4 and you can do what you do for a living.
I want to play!!!
What do I do?
I have no understanding of this game either, but I’m at least thoroughly entertained by this post.
When you were in college(what, 2 years ago? heh) you had ‘crippling anxiety’. How or what helped you turn that around so fast?
“Tour of Pie” sounds like just about the most awesome thing ever.
Wow I also have a collection of ceramic stuff, not only pigs. But it can’t ben any stuff it needs to “tell a story”.
.
So I have a ceramic piramid from Mexico, a ceramic castle from Scotland, a ceramic shoe from Netherland, a ceramic mug from Germany, a ceramic pig from Venezuela, a ceramic CN Tower from Canada, a ceramic aligator from the brazilian countryside, and a iron Statue of Liberty from USA, yeah they didn’t have that on ceramic…
.
There’s about 30 ceramic souvenirs in my room and office.
Wait…I forgot to ask. You can’t watch scary movies, but you can play scary games? I just finished Gears Of War and I have to admit that a few times it was kinda scary, especially in my home theatre. I remember you mentioning that you played it. Didn’t it bother you?
eric - nah. i have control over it, so it makes me feel a little better. plus, it’s easier for me to hit pause and take a breather if i need to. and finally, gears isn’t all that scary.
[...] Anywho, it’s blog tag — no, not that kind of tag — and Veronica tagged me. So, on to the five things you probably didn’t know about me: [...]
I’ve seen this tag pop up a couple of times recently. I got tagged a while ago by a friend, but the statute of limitation ran out. Wait, is there a statute of limitation for these things? Umm, there’s something I have to do.
Later.
MMMmmmm… 3.14.. Wait you were in a show about vampires, and a scary cat (don’t worry my wire is the same way), that owns cats; you are an odd one Veronica.
I wish I had a blogosphere to tag me, alas I will probably never become be a minor internet celebrity…
no. 4 shocked me. I’m at uni just now and suffer from same problem.
Mine definately isnt as bad as yours, I just shake and sweat or avoid the situation completely. However, it is really good to know that it is possible to get over it, because it is really restrictive.
Can you share how you overcame 4? You might be able to help some of your readers.
Merry Christmas
[...] Veronica “tagged” me with this thing a few weeks ago, but I had the hardest time coming up with a list. I mean, do I really want the world to know my “hidden” side? But then I realized I could just softball the question here and give the real scoop when people get to know me. Yes. [...]
