It’s that time of year again! Here are some of the things I want to accomplish in Our Year of Bond, James Bond.
007, get it? Anyhow:
- Get out of the house more, and that does not include online worlds.
- Pick a new MP3 player
- Actually go to the gym that I pay $40 a month for (plus $5 towel service I don’t use).
- Get really good at Gears of War on Live.
- Ride my bike places.
- Cook at home more instead of eating out.
- Learn to cook.
- Start working on at least some of the projects in my head.
- Read some books that aren’t in the fantasy genre.
- Go on a serious vacation.
- Get a better camera and learn to take better photos.
- Make more friends.
- Have Buzz Out Loud become more popular than TWiT or Diggnation! Haha. Yeah right.
- Travel for work more.
- Get a decent haircut.
I’m sure I’ll think of some more later. How about you? What’s on your lists?

I like your haircut.
1: Give more to charity, or rather, be fairer in my donations. I give money every Christmas to a local cat shelter, but I feel I should be less bias towards cats and maybe help the odd hungry child too.
2: Own every Ghibli film. I’m 10 short of the complete set atm =(
3: Spend more than 4 hours a week at the gym, especially since it’s free where I work.
4: Listen to one podcast that has nothing to do with tech.
5: Eat spinach. It’s rancid but I want to be Popeye.
6: (re: your post) Get better at Gears. Insane is living up to its name.
Happy New Year!
Nate.
Shouldn’t #6 and #7 be reversed?
“4. Get really good at Gears of War on Live.”
Haha… good luck. Let me know when you’re better.
2 Comments for ya:
.
1. Hair looks fine, don’t worry.
2. Brazil is a nice place for SERIOUS vacations, but it’s a little bit dangerous if you don’t have a brazilian adult around. (Not like that Turistas movie…)
Ah! You are planning to hit 60 or 70 in Wow in 2007 right?
V,
I volunteer to help you with 1,6,7,9,10,11,12, and 13.
You’ll have to get someone else for the rest!
I hope you have a Happy New Year!
My 1 and only New Year’s Res. is too be less negative.

I love your Hair, promise you wont change that.
My blog will soon have my resolutions!
i love your cat, its so cute! omg! love him or her?
I suggest a cruise for a vacation. Once you’ve been on one, I can pretty much guarantee you’ll never go do anything else for a vacation.
Veronica Belmont, Curb Stomper ladies and gents…
Seriously, I’ve recently had a little time with Gears. It’s interesting. I hear there are two words that be your bestest friends: blind fire. It appears to be true and that’s all i’m saying. For the past couple of years, i’ve resolved not to make resolutions and that been working for me. However, I do want to keep away from listening to the radio (easy enough) and stay deep into good music. I fell off in ‘06 and I want that back. More gaming and (some actual) travel, also. Would have loved to be at CES. Any introspective type WIP’s, i’m still working on.
Happy New Year, all!
DSL? Welcome to the future, dearie! And an interesting set of resolutions. I say for the second one, get a blood red Nano. Or go blonde, whatever floats your boat! Have a great new year!
No, my parents got DSL! I have cable at my apartment
Get the haircut before the grubby geeks at CES recognize you… otherwise you’ll be busy beating them off with a stick!
I second the comment about cruises. Just by a fluke, I went on my first last September–just a little 4 day down to Cozumel, MX. I’m going again in a few days.
Woot!
Great photo taking time to be had, not to mention the food alone is worth more than the cost of the cruise itself!

Play more games for me
Get a 360
Get a Wii
Get more games for my Playstation 3
Have a good Wedding Anniversary Vacation (Maybe Vegas)
And make sure everyone is healthy and safe
[...] Så er det farvel til 2006 og goddag til 2007 - hvilket jo er James Bond-år, som Veronica Belmont gør opmærksom på ;). [...]
Interestingly, we have a lot in common, but I suppose that may be said for most nerds in general.
1.definitely

3. I’m actually getting pretty good at that. BTW in NYC it’s $135/mo.
4.I think I’m getting pretty good at Gears on Live. I’m “modelizer” (kind of a bad joke, but most don’t get it and it’s my old PS2/killzone name) on live if anyone wants to add me (I only have 2 friends). I just picked up the Vision kit for the 360 so I’m gonna try to add my real face to my Gears Character if it lets me.
5.done. but someone just stole my tire. I’ll be out again once it’s above 60F.
6.totally
9.For me, read some books, period. I’m not sure if you are a Farscape fan, but you should read Farscape: House of Cards. Yeah it’s Sci-fi, but it’s not Fantasy, right? (I hope that html turns out ok…)
12.see #4
14.totally, and get a new agent to help me do that.
15.too late for me
Theres mine:
* Don’t Break anything. (that will be the hardest one)
* Listen to one NON Technology Podcast.
* Make more of my own podcasts, I said one a week and then one a month, now I’m down to one a year. LOL
* Bring my Lunch to school twice a week.
* Clean up my Locker and Binder. LOL Like thats gonna Happen.
* Get a haircut that I like. (I hate my hair no matter what it looks like)
* Make more blog entries.
* Start making and editing video.
* HTML??
Psh, new MP3 player… Don’t shun the Apple or Mad Dog might smite you. Just don’t forget to pick up an iPod a year. And before you Mac fanboys get excited, I’m using a Mac Book Pro (which is mine, all mine) now and have owned 4 iPods.
Well you’ve already got a better show than TWiT or Diggnation, seriously I just can’t sit through either of those two shows. I don’t know what it is but they just bore me to tears! I’ll take a good Molly rant or Merrit geek out over anything that TWiT or Diggnation puts out.
Now I’ll build off of that accomplishment for myself, I want to figure out how to get my podcast (intentionally not linked to in this post) featured in iTunes for it’s category… Anybody got an suggestions, or maybe an “in” on Infinite Loop?
You reviewed the Rebel XTi and Nikon D80 which are both awesome. I have the Canon Digital Rebel and it’s ready to go right out the box but you can learn on it which is what I’ve been doing. So just buy the camera and take it whereever you go and you will guaranteed to take some great pics.
Have lunch with Nicole more. *coughcough*
that’s funny because my list includes most of that stuff, too. especially the gym thing, the bike thing, and the haircut thing. happy new year!
I am betting 4. will trump 1.
As for mine, my yearly resolution is to not make any. I succeed every year!
[...] Tuesday morning I’ll take pictures and spend too much money, as I tend to do each year around this time. Here’s hoping this week will set a quick pace for this the year of our Bond, amen. [...]
I hate making new years resolutions.
I dont need an entire year to do something.
PPL just use it as an excuse to not do stuff! The way I look at it, ppl make resolutions and then spend the rest of the year not doing anything about it because in their head its like… i got the entire year to do this stuff.
ooooooooo snap !
1. Try not to go out on two dates on the same night as much.
2. Bring my music collection to over 40,000 songs.
3. See more live music (in small clubs).
4. Hike longer and through rougher terrain.
5. Buy more toys.
Re: Looking beyond Vista: Fiji, Vienna, and Ford?…
I’d love to believe that these are anything more than rumor, though at this point that’s all they are. Rest assured when we’ll be sharing whatever we can as we march through our …
Will it not be an iPod? lol. I need to get a new one myself, but I am waiting for Macworld to be over before I do anything.
I would teach you how to cook, if I lived in California, but I don’t, damn =/ lol
Also need to get a new camera, but there is nothing good at there anymore !!!
Friends are overrated, that said, I am surprised you do not have millions of friends, who wouldn’t want to be your friend?
Buzz Out Loud will probably never beat Diggnation (sry), but you have a chance at beating Twit, I think Buzz Out Loud is easily the best audio podcast out there.
and last time I checked, which was just now, your her looks better than fine, no need to change it, but hey that’s just my opinion, what’s most important is that you are happy.
OK now I am done, I will post my New Year’s Resolutions later.
Bye
“Have Buzz Out Loud become more popular than TWiT or Diggnation! Haha. Yeah right.”
Easy … just start drinking on the air! Oh, and swearing too!
you dont need a new haircut!!!I like yours.
V, you have an awesome haircut or at least the one’s I see posted of you. You’re like the hot chic on BSG. If you’re slightly a Sci-Fi fan, you’ll know that acronym. Anyhow… “work it out!”
You’re smokin’ hot, but don’t let the fanbois fool you. The HC resolution is a good one.
Definitely ride your bike more! I am a mountain biker and I can say from personal experience that biking, or any kind, just helps you… emotionally and physically.
[...] after this post we can all move on from the resolutions discussion, but a few people mentioned last year’s post, and wondered how well I stuck with them! Here they [...]
