Make sure you check out the Monster's Inc Laugh Floor (AKA: the MILF ride) when you're in the Magic Kingdom. The tech behind it is pretty impressive.

I don't know... I guess I felt it didn't had the CNET tune to it. Seemed more MTVish than your usual you. Not that I don't like music and the ambiance, but that's why I go out at night, not what I tune in to CNetTV to watch... you know? I think you did a good job, its just that SXSW didn't merit a full coverage. Also, let me tell you something... I felt like you weren't enjoying it that much either. (sorry i'm more fluent in spanish)

You guys could do a podcast about anything - like, say, lint - and it would take off. ;)

Looks like Ryan got a lot of votes for "B-Side" on his blog.

Whatever it is you guys decide on, I'm sure it'll rock.

[...] So yesterday Veronica let it out that we’ve been talking for a long time — like, almost a year? — about doing a podcast or vidcast together. Apparently people are into the idea, but I’m still undecided. Like anything else, I’d want it to be something we could commit to doing regularly, and, well, we’re both pretty busy. But ok, assuming we made the time to do it, what would you want us to talk about? Maybe it’s safest to assume we will talk about tech stuff, specifically the stuff we didn’t really discuss on the Engadget Podcast or Buzz Out Loud — but what would we call it? [...]

Said "Hi" at Mohawk, but so did about 100 other people. Great picture of you and Tantek on Flickr. Jesus, that place was packed even before the bands showed up. SXSW night-life is such a blur. Too many of the parties at SXSW were generic: open-bar, loud music, super-packed-crowds. Not the best environment for actual conversation. Aside from bad audio, the Heather Gold show was much more my speed.

You didn't miss much at the Buzzfeed/Ze Frank party at Molotov. The audio was lousy and the crowd was more into the open-bar than the actual show. Ze did manage to get through his "airline schtick" show--eventually.

I agree that SXSW is too industry/left-field for the bulk of CNET-TV viewers.

How about making the podcast only "ostensibly" about gadgets/tech, but also make it a "young couple"'s cast. There are plenty of couple-casts out there: Keith & TheGirl, Dawn & Drew, Jawbone, Redboy, etc., but I think you and Ryan could offer a very unique and appealing prespective. Think about how MacBreak Weekly is only ostensibly about the Mac experience. It would also be another platform to expand "Brand Veronica" and a way to introduce "Brand Ryan" away from the imprimatur of Engadget/Weblogs-Inc/AOL.

Hope the cold passes quickly.

Cheers

Dammit! I was at the Guitartown party at Mother Egan's Wednesday too. If I'd known you were going to be there, I'd have introduced myself.

I thought the coverage was great, but I didn't get a chance to watch it until today; I'm just now beginning to feel human again.

So, were the views of the SXSW coverage not as good as you wanted then? I dunno - I really liked the coverage: it was techie-ish, but also focused on indie music and the actual 'social' side of social networking online - talking to people, getting the stories behind Web 2.0 phenomena. In my mind, all those things (somewhat irrationally) go together - perhaps you were preaching to the converted? Anyway, I thought it was cool...

And as much as I like both BOL and Engadget, I'm far too much of a bitter, single man to endorse any sort of couply podcast ;)
