since i was a kid transformers was my favorite cartoon and toys and trough the years i forgot about it but always dream with a real version of the cartoon and finally mr bay and mr spielberg made my drdream come true with a bonus creating the best movie ever and can wait to see the sequels ill b waiting like a kid again.

The movie was great. I felt a little weird because I was truly excited about the seeing the movie. I dare to say gitty. I’m turning thirty this year. Why was I so excited about seeing a movie about my childhood toys. Ohh ya.. Cars that turn into robots. You can beat that. Also the 3D artist did an amazing job. I’m going to go see it again just for that alone.

Spiderman 3 left such a bad taste in my mouth that I can’t remember if I was ever excited about it or not. However I know that when I first saw a transformers teaser trailer, I was ecstatic, despite the fact that I never watched the show.

IMO, you can take spiderman3, shrek3, pirates3, cram them all together, and they still wouldnt be as fun and as exciting as transformers!!

yeah i liked it a lot too. i didn’t like that bernie mac and anthony anderson where there chewing up the scenery and taking time away from the robots and more important central characters. i also thought john turturro’s character was unnecessary too. but when i look back on it… i had a lot of fun with this movie, megan fox is… well a fox! shia labeouf is on his way to stardom and i can’t wait for the sequel!

Transformers was pretty good, but I think the last 30 minutes of action could’ve been cut down to 10. I don’t know, it was very anticlimactic. There were some good bits for fans of the original, but I don’t think that excuses it for all the plot holes and undeveloped characters (why did they build up that british hacker and then do nothing with her at all?) I also saw Live Free and Die Hard this weekend and that was (so far, anyway) easily the popcorn action blockbuster of the summer. Really great movie.

Take away the ILM-enhanced action scenes, and how much of that movie was even tolerable, much less “good?” Between the stereotypical black men insulting their mothers/grandmothers, the unnecessary character headcount approaching double-digits, and the all-around hackneyed dialog writing, it is difficult if not impossible to praise anything about the movie except the action scenes… which totaled probably a half hour of the 2.5 hour movie. And don’t even get me started on the goddamn flames they painted on Optimus Prime (what did he do, copy a truck at a Kentucky truck stop?), much less his monkey-lips. Why not put him in clown makeup, while they’re at it?

i was actually looking forward to spiderman more. it was going to be the first movie featuring my favorite villain venom. but what an dissapointment it was! waiting for venom the whole movie, watching peter parker dance and then once he was born, he gets killed after like 15 on screen minutes.. transformers i played with as a child and i even had a megatron toy, but here the media coverage and the “growing up with” part of the transformers were missing. i havent seen it yet (cinemas in europe mostly are a little late with international productions), and i heard they redesigned the transformers some, for whatever reason, but i still think if they manage to bring the action there is not much that could go wrong with it. also already there is talk about making it the next franchise, so we will probably see transformers part 2 in less than 3 years.

It took me two viewings to cement my feelings on the movie. First of all, it felt like a Michael Bay movie from beginning to end. A bad thing. Lots of meaning less action shots and people in uniforms parading in a row set to music in Hans Zimmer style… (Jablonsky works out of his studio.) Including any mention of the “All-Spark” was a mistake. A movie like this doesn’t need explanation…just let the giant bots duke it out. I was also disappointed with the design of the Transformers humanoid forms…far too unfamiliar and hardly recognizable from their alternate forms. I also cringed every time one of them spoke…

Despite all this, the movie was satisfying enough.

I was looking forward to Spidey more but Transformers delivered in a way I totally didn’t expect. It was soup to nuts perfect. The best summer tent pole popcorn movie ever made. Period.

I totally agree! I was so looking forward to Spider Man 3 and I went to the midnight showing on opening night and was let down. Being a huge Transformers fan, I was a little worried this movie was going to be awful (especially after that teaser trailer). Well I saw it the day after it came out and OMG, it was great! I don’t think you have to be a TFormer’s fan to get in, and there’s just enough of the original (notice the yellow bug at the car lot?) to keep my happy!

I have to agree the this movie was awesome! I was concerned at first that Michael Bay was going to murder this film. There have been to many movies made recently that were absolutely horrendous (fantastic 4, cough, cough). I can’t wait until I can buy Transformers in HD! ^_^

I absolutely loved everything until the Sector 7 Men in Black showed up. From there, the story fell apart and only the action sequences saved it.

When in Shrek the trailer for Transformers came out. It was my favourite animation of my childhood (more than Robotech!!), I thought it was too loud! The whole movie is like that, trying to impress you through your ears in addition to your eyes?

Really – I’m looking forward to Order of the Phoenix more than either, followed closely by Fantastic Four (already out of course). Above any movie however, I’m looking forward to book 7 of the Harry Potter series!

I just got back from watching it! I came out of the theater feeling like an 8 year old kid again! It was the epitome of what a summer blockbuster is – thin plot, awesome effects and an all around fun movie leaving open the option for a sequel.
