Have you seen “The Guild”?
Oh man, my blog is quickly becoming very WoW-centric, and I promise this won’t last for much longer. However, I feel compelled to devote a post to my new favorite web serial, The Guild. It stars the lovely Felicia Day (some of you will recognize her from Buffy, but she’s worked on other cool projects as well) as a Warcraft-addicted woman who finds her online life encroaching on her personal, “IRL” space. The second episode just came out, and my only real complaint is that they’re woefully short. If you’re a WoW player, you’ll find the references and constant Vent chatter in the background to be both hilarious, and frighteningly close to home.
Episode One:
Episode Two:
I think it’s especially funny to think about the lines between real and virtual world blurring… but as much as I love my guild, it would be a little odd to find one of them on my doorstep one day! But hey, that’s what meet-ups are for!

How do I get this into Miro, iTunes or just a plain RSS reader? Can’t find any buttons anywhere to subscribe to it? Do I really have to go the site manually or YouTube?
Btw. What really caught my attention was “Buffy” in your post. I’m watching Buffy re-run on TV… I just love that show!
The Guild looks cool and I will be following it – even if I have to do it by joining their ….. e-mail newsletter!
All other stuff I watch goes though Miro. -
ok fans… http://www.wowwiki.com/Main_Page i dont want any gold i dont play the game i want hugs
- from women. this show actually is very weird to me, i played several other games of the genre like ao or the lotro beta and there also is a solid fanbase on those games, i know they dont get like 9 million subscribers so their developers can become really freakin rich on making colored polygons with virtual values, but if overwhelming popularity and flaming fans on forums that just attack any other game result in that kinda stuff, i mean… whats next? when will the first wow reality tv show go on air? -

Wow! I never have played World of Warcraft but that is funny, creepy and insightful at the same time. All of those characters in that serial are spending away to much time playing that game. That girl really should take her therapist’s advice and get out and interact with people in the real world.
They way that guy tracked her down is really creepy and stalkerish but he seemed to mean well and at least he made to the effort to reach out to someone in the “real world”.
