This morning Kent over at The iPhone Blog pinged me to show me a blog post a reader had sent him. Rakesh Agrawal’s (CEO of SnapStream) 3-year old daughter came up with a very inventive solution for watching her dad’s iPhone and using both her hands to learn Yo-Yo at the same time: stick it up on the fridge, 3-year old height level, with magnets! They’re calling it the “iPhone TV” over at their house, but I think I’d call it the “Toddler Distraction Device.”
Not only am I thrilled that she liked the show and is learning how to Yo-Yo from it (which speaks volumes of Doctor Popular’s teaching abilities, even over video), but I’m also amazed at how brilliant kids can be. I’ve heard that magnets aren’t the greatest thing to have around your gadgets, but since this is flash memory, I don’t think it should be a problem. They’d better get working on the patent application!

If you had enough iPhones, you could make some kind of awesome iPhone-fridge-video-wall contraption. And I think I need one of those…
yeah that yo-yo episode was great! had a lot of fun watching some of the tricks being performed and couldn’t believe the kind of things that the competitve yo-yo… people were doing with the thing! even made me go to youtube and see more videos of yo-yo competitions.
here’s another similar idea that’s kinda cool too: people who spin pens around their hands and do other crazy tricks… check out the videos! http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=spinning+pens&search=Search
That is funny, but having had toddlers not too long ago, there is something about having expensive gadgets around active three year olds that makes me nervous! :0)
I have Velcro on my iPod Touch case and car dash. Instant in-car entertainment system!

So far, I have loved every Mahalo Daily episode that’s been out. The Cyber Monday one was hilarious! The hangover episode was a little weird to watch because I was actually in the midst of a full-blown hangover. I guess I’ll have to set glasses of water on the bed next time I party. errr…wait…..
Anyways, that’s awesome that your shows are already inspiring kids and adults alike! I’d love to see more tech stuff covered, like installing a Linux distro and what linux is, building/upgrading a computer, oh and a topic about how people like me with basic tv w/out cable will be pretty much screwed in 2009 and what the options are and what happens when it all changes. But that’s just the geek in me.
Keep up the amazing work!
The velcro idea sounds great!
I just watched your Cyber Monday episode of Mahalo Daily,… and lo and behold I see my metro area’s traffic map. I wonder why you picked the Minneapolis/St. Paul area for the graphic. btw, do I win a prize for noticing?
I only wish that it was available in mp3 format. Same with tekzilla. I like to listen to them on the car ride home.
Kids – gotta love’em for stuff like this. They hardly know how clever they really are – it’s just immensely adorable.

regarding cnet: looks like you got out before the shiatstorm
Hey Veronica,
I just saw a Mahalo Daily feature on the iTunes podcast page (I got a screen shot of it
).
Not sure if you noticed, but anyway. Congradulations! Great show!
