New blog design!
Hooray! As much as I once loved my old design, it was begging for an update. Huge thanks to my friend Jesse Keyes (contact him for WP template design here) who listened to my whims, and put up with my incessant nitpicking. This design is much easier to read and navigate, and the code isn’t fraked from my constant adding and subtracting of widgets. Yes, it had become so bad that even trying to add an embedded video would cause the whole site to spiral into disaster. I’ll be more careful this time.
And to those of you who visit this site mid-transition, I’m sorry if you thought you were caught in some weird temporal vortex (the templates were switching around back and forth). There will be more coming soon to the site as well. I’ll be making a page of all my different projects, and adding to the pages that exist now. We’re also working on a cool header design, so keep an eye out for that one (if you’re not just reading from RSS, that is!).
One of my favorite new features are the Gravatars, which are the little icons in the comments section. It makes things a little more personal around here! Well, I hope you enjoy the new site. I’m very excited about it

Very nice! I like the combination of automatic active content (like the Twitter and Flickr streams) and determined new content (like your blog posts).
I have been trying to freshen up my blog for a while, but it does take some doing. WordPress is easy to customize, but you have to have some PHP/Javascript skills the really modify a template to your needs. Kudos to Jesse for doing such a great job!

i miss the sword and laser button and it is fascinating how easy you made me sign up for this gravatar stuff, just to show off my funny face… this works automatically once i associate an image with my gravatar account and email and post on any gravatar enabled blogs, right? i like the star at the top btw.

Hey all, Jesse the designer here, glad you all like the template. VB and I spent a lot of time on it!
Just to credit where it’s due:
The template is pretty much a mangled (I mean massaged) version of Gossip City.
Plugins used: Alex King’s Twitter Tools, FlickrRSS and Gravatar.
Have fun out there!

I really enjoy the new look/design of the site. It is much easier to look at and much more organized. I personally feel that having all of the comments listed at once is a bit much. I would prefer to see 10 or so per page but that’s just me. The Gravatars were a much needed feature and they do exactly as you had hoped, they make things a little more personal…
