In case you missed it, Tom Merritt and I have started doing a Sword and Laser podcast every week. It’s just a quick rundown of some of the things that have happened in the latest book (Neuromancer) plus whatever other sci-fi/fantasy related stuff we’ve been checking out recently!
It’s pretty low-tech right now, but we hope to bring more audience discussion into it soon, by either using a TalkShoe talkcast or by using Yahoo! Live (which may have been the cause of the strange audio hissing from this week’s episode…). We even have some swag to give away on the next episode! I just subscribed. I am a member of the community, but have not been able to be very active so far. This podcast will be just what I need to stay in touch on the go!
It’s good to hear Merritt and Belmont on a consistent podcast. Reminds of the days on BOL when Molly was out on maternity leave and you two were left to hold it down. Ah, those were the good ole days . . .
I look forward to hearing more episodes! Also, I like the Ning concept and will join soon.
yeah awesome, just get the technology on a professional level without any noise in the background or cats running over the close by computer keyboard or something… oh and it is SO awesome that you are giving away xbox 360 games, now i just need a 40 inch flatscreen tv and an xbox 360. if i win a game that is

OK, Veronica, you have created a dilemma for me! I listened to the second podcast and now I don’t know whether to read Neuromancer or Storm Front, the first Dresden book. I read the first few chapters of Neuromancer back when it came out, and gave up (for the reasons you all mentioned), but was considering trying it again. However, recently a friend gave me copies of the audiobook for Storm Front and now you got me all jazzed to try that instead.
BTW, Dresden Files got cancelled apparently in favor of Flash Gordon.
I do understand that the unaired 2 hour pilot is being aired on March 8 @ 3 am EST
