Introducing Qore!
Today the project I’ve been working on for the past two months (other than Tekzilla, of course!) is being announced to the world: Qore, an interactive program on the Playstation Network. I’m really excited about it, and also a little nervous, because it’s unlike anything I’ve done before. As we all know, video can be a lot better at explaining something than text, so here’s the preview video:
Honestly? It’s one of the coolest looking things I’ve seen in a long time, and I’m not just saying that because we’ve been working our asses off on it! Unfortunately, I don’t get to be in the first episode as much as we’d like, since I came into the project towards the end of the shooting cycle. But the stuff we’ve done already for episodes two and three is very fun.
Everyone is already fixating on the free demos, themes and betas, but it will take them until Thursday (when it goes live) to see how the video segments and behind the scenes clips are really what I think this whole thing is about. I’m just psyched that I get to be a part of it, and talk to the developers and artists behind some truly cool upcoming games.
There’s way more info on the Playstation Blog, but if you have any questions for me drop them in the comments and maybe I’ll whip up a FAQ for the next post!

Based on the Sony blog post, it sounds like a paid internet tv show covering PS3 games. I love ya Veronica but I’m just not going to pay Sony to market to me at $2/3 per episode.
They should take a page from the 1up guys who have already been doing this type of thing for awhile now and it’s all free! (Behind the scenes of games, interviews with devs and roundtable discussions in video and audio form etc.)

Unfortunately I’d have to agree with Dom. I have a feeling though it won’t be long til Sony wises up and makes the show ad-based or something. Considering PSN is their first foray into this kinda thing, I figure it’ll take them about as long as it did MS to get their XBL roadworthy. the 360 just got started down that painful path a lot earlier.

CONGRATS VERONICA i’ve always been a fan of all your endeavors and this one was the best news you made my day looking forward to each and every episode. You have a way of captivating your audience with a sincere and humble voice that makes you an incredible host for anything you could do a podcast of the yellow book and i would listen (AI reference sort of) LOL Congrats wooohooo

BTW, I see this as a digital version of some the Playstation magazines you get at the book store. $25 seems a little high, but considering you would pay more for an equivalent magazine for a year, maybe it isn’t too high. It would appear that you get interactive comics, demos, etc with the subscription, which is really cool. Personally, I see this being a pretty big hit.

That’s pretty cool news, Xbox has had this stuff for a while so it doesn’t really excite me all that much but its freakin cool that you are going to be hosting some episodes for it. Probably one of my fav hosts at Rev3 so it’s bound to be good. I still hate the PS3 compared but I may try to watch the show anyway cuz never know…maybe you could show me the error of my ways.

I’m no Xbox-fanboi, but I’ve gotta say charging for this is lame. Xbox has basically the same thing for free via their dashboard (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/community/insidexbox/ for info)

I must admit I’m not a gamer, but wow, you folks are really drinking this ‘I’ll pay for anything proprietary’ kool aid – aren’t you?
Veronica, please be aware; it doesn’t get any more ‘big media’ than Sony (think rootkits and DRM) and that’s a strong dichotomy between true digital freedom of the Rev3 (think torrent downloads, HD downloads, etc.) company.
You’ve had one foot firmly planted in new media and you’ve just put your other foot in old media and to many that’s a big step backwards. These fan boys will stick with you (very loyal to your brand and that’s wonderful) but the new folks may look at you with a cautious eye.
Those good folks who are fans of Tekzilla remember what happened to their precious TechTV; it was sold out and became a pathetic excuse for a gamer channel.
Good luck and I know you’re wise enough to have already thoroughly thought this one out.
