Start off the New Year with an iPod shuffle [Contest]

Last week the guys over at Golden Shellback, who make “splashproof” coatings for gadgets, sent me a 1GB silver iPod shuffle (splashproofed, of course). Since I already have an iPhone to listen to my tunes on I thought it would be fun to give it away here on the site! The “contest” is going to be very simple:
1. Leave a comment telling me what your New Year’s resolution is.
2. Post before Dec. 31st, 2008 at 11:59 PM EST.
3. I’ll randomly select one of the comments via number generator!
Please make sure to use a valid email address in the email field when you’re posting so I can contact you. I’ll give you a couple of days to respond… if you don’t, I’ll pick another random number. Good luck!

At my work, we have an electronic suggestion box, where employees can submit ideas, feedback, or suggestions for improving our company products. I take advantage of it a lot. Or used to.
Today, I got notification that one of my suggestions was not going to be implemented. No details on why. No indication that anyone had done anything with the request at all, other than to say it wasn’t going to get implemented.
Then I got another email, related to a different suggestion I had submitted, also not to be implemented. Then a third email, a fourth, a fifth …
Some of these are ancient — dating back 4 years ago, to when I first joined the company. Most of them came directly from Customers, and I was simply passing on those requested features.
I’d feel less insulted if they had simply kept ignoring my suggestions, rather than tell me they weren’t going to implement ANY of them (and take 4 years to get around to doing that).
My New Year’s Resolution is to delete all the electronic suggestions I’ve already submitted (those that haven’t yet been “rejected”), and to never offer another suggestion to my Company ever again.

My New Year’s resolution is to complete my MBA and join a great company as their Director of Technology!

I’ve only kept one new year’s resolution ever: to never eat green pepper again. That was ten years ago. I stopped smoking three weeks ago. For 2009, my hope is that the world gets out of the financial mess it finds itself in, that people live within their means and that greed and violence end. But those are hopes. I resolve not to add to the greed and violence if it must exist. Oh, and also to cut down on chocolate and not to reach for a cola when I go out for lunch. Forget the chocolate. I’m cutting down on the cola. There, I said it.
