On this week’s episode of Tekzilla, we looked at three of the more well-known and popular pocket camcorders on the market. Personally, I use the Flip Mino HD at home, but it was nice to see some of the other camcorders in action, including the Creative Vado HD and the Kodak Zi6. Here’s the clip:
While we’re on the topic of camcorders, I was very pleased to have mine on me to document this blatant abuse of Revision3 ergonomic supplies:

Yea, I enjoy that segment on the episode, I think I want the Flip HD.
Have you done that game yet Veronica? You should! That’s awesome, I want to go buy 5 balls just to try it lol!
What was that twirly thing i did in the video? i dont know what that was. :p
It’s ok, Tyler! It was just your “I love life!” twirl!
Good review. Definitely made the choice of which pocket HD camera easier.
Good job. Another one to look at is the Aiptek devices. I have one of those as well as the Flip Mino HD. The Aiptek which has a bulkier form factor, does offer flash and still photographs.
Oh that? Tyler, i made you swirl in post production. It’s a new after effects plugin called “WTF was that?”
I personally like the Flip Mino. It definitely has the best design out of the three. I currently own the first gen. Vado though, but I use the Canon Powershot camera for most of my videos. My purse can only hold so many gadgets.. lol

These are amazing little cameras. I have a friend who is using one for her podcast. We shot some video with it over the weekend that I hope she posts soon!
I love the new sharing features for Revision3’s flash player, that’s just awesome. I enjoyed the segment too (as always) but I don’t think I’ll be buying a “pocket” HD cam any time soon. I went with the Sanyo Xacti HD700 which is awesome. I wish I had gone for the 1080 version though because you can get lenses and even adapters for using Canon and Nikon lenses with it.
I love the Flip Mino HD, and I agree, the video quality is excellent, but I have to disagree w/ Patrick about the audio quality. The mic on the Flip Mino HD is on the same side as the LCD (meant to have you narrate video), it would be much improved with an omnidirectional mic on the bottom (like a cell phone). Just sayin. Thanks for the roundup.
Man the video did not open in my computer… may be due to slow connection speed
I think you should also have compared the Sony WebbieHD with those 3 cameras. It shoots 1080p (not true 1080, it’s like 1440×1080). I’d like to see some comparative footage of that.
playing that game with exercise balls is FUN! you should try it.
