Out on a school night!
Last night I went to the Ben Harper and Relentless7 show at The Fillmore. Here’s my crappy video of their awesome cover of Queen’s Under Pressure:

The show was really great – as previously mentioned I’m not a big concert-goer these days, but I had a blast. Although, today my head feels like a blast went off inside of it (lightweight).
Anyhow, thanks to Jordan for the invite to the show! Their new album White Lies for Dark Times came out this month, so check it out.

I love the Flip HD – but it is so small it is hard to not make it “shaky”. Here is my solution. Could work with a beer bottle also, that would be cool.

For a concert video there is a remarkable low amount of distortion. Typically in most of my videos the song is almost unrecognizable.
Oh… And this cover is good. I guess I feel like there really wasn’t anything that relentless7 changed to make the song their own.
I mean sorry to Ben Harper, but he can’t compete with Freddie or Bowie… The only way I feel like you could really pull off a Queen cover is to alter the song enough where you don’t have to sing a song better than Mercury. It’s like musical suicide to try to one up a legend in his own song. The only Under Pressure cover I really like is by The Blood Brothers.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAubMoy2MNUI’m not super into the whole post hardcore thing that the blood brothers have going, but it build the right type of tension to make their breakdown section sound ridiculously blissful.

This is crazy. I just watched an old video of a piece you did for Mahalo Daily on Music Industry Tech Talk, & as so commonly happens online, I began to follow links blindly until I arrived to your website. What is truly awesome is that you’ve got the Relentless 7 up front and center & that my good friend Jordan invited you out to the show (that is, if you were speaking of Jordan Richardson). Six degrees of separation? Thanks to the internet, it’s probably far less than that in these days and times…go figure.
