In case you didn’t hear the news from Comic-Con, I’m going to be hosting the RiffTrax LIVE event on August 20th! Now, this is way bigger than just the typical internet streaming event: it’s going to be broadcast to over 400 movie theaters across the country! The guys will be riffing on the classic Ed Wood film Plan 9 from Outer Space (thought by many people to be one of the worst films ever made). In addition, the wonderful Jonathan Coulton will be performing, along with a special segment by Rich “Lowtax” Kyanka of Something Awful.
We’re going to be recording the show in Nashville, TN, but unfortunately that theater has already sold out. So make sure you get tickets while you can from the website!
In other news, the RiffTrax panel at Comic-Con was a blast. Not only did the guys do a live riff of a video short called “Shake Hands with Danger,” but we also had the crowd plead their case for the next full-length RiffTrax feature! The selection was for one of my favorite bad movies, Dragon Wars.
By the way, here are all my pictures from Comic-Con. I got to meet so many awesome people (like Phil Plait from Bad Astronomy), that was probably the most fun I’ve ever had a convention. Although, Tom and I are heading to Dragon*Con in September, so that might come close… more on that one coming soon.

Win! The theater in my town is broadcasting it!
SWEET!! Only wish I didn’t have to wait a whole week before I have the cash for tickets. Also, I’m hoping my friends are awesome enough to understand how cool this is. Because…um…they’re, eh…not, um…not geeks. *cries* I’M SO ALONE!!!!!

Good to see that people are excited about Rifftrax. I’ve got a group of riff noobs I’ve talked into coming with me, hope that goes well. See you there Veronica!
it’s on my birthday so my friends have no choice but to come with me. I’m pretty pumped. Veronica had said on twit tv that they won’t have the mst guys in the front row but i’m still pumped.
I just found out you and Tom are going to be at DragonCon. Unfortunately I will be missing that con this year despite being a regular in previous years.
If you guys are there again next year I will definitely make an attempt to go next year.
If you can, check out the guys of Need Coffee and The Unique Geek at DragonCon
Have fun!

Oh wow, how did I not realise until now that was you hosting? Granted, we got in a little late and missed the intros, but still. After all the time I spent listening to BOL on the way to and from work you’d think I’d have recognised your voice.
Anyway, great job. It’s a wonder that the stage didn’t spontaneously implode with that much Awesome in once place at one time. Thanks for being part of something that cool – I can’t remember the last time our family had that much fun going to the movies.
