Otter Appreciation Post
I’ve never had much exposure to otters growing up. It saddens me to think that I went through my early development without an appreciation for all things Lutrinae. Luckily, we have the internet.
Look at them! They’re so melodramatic!
This one is extremely disappointed with you.
Like most things, they’re cuter in baby form:
They can’t even resist holding on to other otters! (Get them in t-shirt form!)
And there’s a whole blog about them called the Daily Otter! Thanks for the tip, @level5vegan!
I don’t know… there’s just something really great about them.

Monterey Bay Aquarium has 2 live webcams- one for their sea otters, one for the fresh water otters- from 7am-7pm PT.

There used to be this cool amphibious bus tour in Monterey that took you really close to the otters, playing out under the piers. Otters truly may be the cutest animals on the earth.

I adore otters. Have you seen Planet Earth? There’s a part where a group of them literally SCARES OFF a ginormous crocodile. http://dsc.discovery.com/videos/planet-earth-freshwater-otter-gang.html

Love otters too and I’ve been fortunate enough to see river otters in the wild on a couple of occations. Let me just say, cute as they are, you don’t want to get them mad.

Absolutely. Have loved them since I saw “Pool of Bright Water” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ring_of_Bright_Water). Am planning to come back as one.

I remember being at the beach when I was like 10 and having an otter swim on shore and come right up to me. Coolest thing ever!

My girlfriend made us full otter costumes last year! You sound like someone who could appreciate that and not make furry jokes all night.
This year she may turn them into Tanooki Mario outfits, or not, as they deserve a stateside debut.
