Mahalo Daily w/ Engadget for CES

In case you missed the story tonight, Mahalo Daily be doing video for the Engadget folks this week at CES. Starting this weekend, in fact! So you can catch the videos either on our site, or using the video tag over at Engadget. This is my third year covering CES, and I’m looking forward to seeing what new and shiny toys will be unveiled this time around.

There’s already crazy news with HD DVD canceling their entire freakin’ press conference (basically because Warner Brothers went with Blu-ray), so I have a feeling that this is going to be an interesting CES.

Keep your eyes open for the videos, and rest assured that I’ll be twittering my fool head off about every gadget I come across. Heck, you can even follow CES2008 on Twitter nowadays! Here’s hoping my flight to Las Vegas won’t be delayed or canceled because of rain. Seriously!

Violet thinks I’m sexy!

Wow! I’m extremely flattered to be on Violet Blue’s list of Top 10 Sexy Geeks of 2007! Violet has put out this list for the past two years, and every year it’s full of wonderfully smart and talented people. I guess I’m a little biased, because so many of them are my pals!

I love that she also used one of my favorite photos of me and Ryan (who was a runner-up on the list, that sexy devil). Well, this certainly made my day!

In other news (while I have your attention):
* I did an interview with MacMost recently, and realized that I say “really” more than is probably appropriate.
* Mahalo Daily is going on a short hiatus for the holidays, but we’ll be back on the 31st with some really (oops, I mean totally) amazing episodes.
* Then on the week of the 7th, look for our very special CES coverage. It’s gadget time!

Have a great holiday!

MacWorld first thoughts

Man, I wish I was back in SF right now! MacWorld, obviously, is one of my favorite holidays (I actually greet people on these days with “Happy MacWorld Day!”). I wasn’t let down, even though I was hundreds of miles away in Vegas at CES.

I’m pretty awestruck by the iPhone (yes! iPhone! Awesome!)… I’d love having Widgets right on my phone. Bummed that it’s Cingular, but that was to be expected. Hopefully I can try one out sometime soon! The Apple TV is also pretty groovy looking, except for the 720p, which is a little disappointing. The 40GB hard drive is a nice addition that we were all hoping for. You can be sure one of these will be in my house as soon as possible. A little delayed Christmas present to myself, perhaps.

Anyhow, CES is still going well. Last night we had a company party at the Playboy Villa at the Palms, and it was insane. I have never seen a hotel suite that awesome. There was a bed that rotated, a whirlpool tub that was so deep that you could drown in, and a pool outside with the Playboy bunny symbol that leaned out over the edge of the building and over the lights of Vegas. Unfortunately, I was so worried about being overtired that I left at 10:30. I know, I’m a giant lameo.

I also did some soundbites for G4 earlier today, so look for those in their preview of the Best of CES awards that we host.

I have pictures of a lot of stuff, but that media card reader is escaping me again. I’ll update with photo links later.
UPDATE: Here they are!
