Pretty nicely!
Thanks, Andrew!
Man, I wish I was back in SF right now! MacWorld, obviously, is one of my favorite holidays (I actually greet people on these days with “Happy MacWorld Day!”). I wasn’t let down, even though I was hundreds of miles away in Vegas at CES.

I’m pretty awestruck by the iPhone (yes! iPhone! Awesome!)… I’d love having Widgets right on my phone. Bummed that it’s Cingular, but that was to be expected. Hopefully I can try one out sometime soon! The Apple TV is also pretty groovy looking, except for the 720p, which is a little disappointing. The 40GB hard drive is a nice addition that we were all hoping for. You can be sure one of these will be in my house as soon as possible. A little delayed Christmas present to myself, perhaps.
Anyhow, CES is still going well. Last night we had a company party at the Playboy Villa at the Palms, and it was insane. I have never seen a hotel suite that awesome. There was a bed that rotated, a whirlpool tub that was so deep that you could drown in, and a pool outside with the Playboy bunny symbol that leaned out over the edge of the building and over the lights of Vegas. Unfortunately, I was so worried about being overtired that I left at 10:30. I know, I’m a giant lameo.
I also did some soundbites for G4 earlier today, so look for those in their preview of the Best of CES awards that we host.
I have pictures of a lot of stuff, but that media card reader is escaping me again. I’ll update with photo links later.
UPDATE: Here they are!
So far, so good! We just finished recording an episode of Buzz Out Loud on the stage here at CES. I have to say, it was pretty awesome, and I’m looking forward to recording in front of an audience tomorrow. I’m been wandering about quite a bit; I’m trying to track down a card reader so I can throw some pictures up that I’ve taken so far, but there doesn’t seem to be one about.
Samsung came by the booth this morning with a few nice phones, one of which has an operating system that they wouldn’t let us show… I didn’t see it, but I can take a few guesses. Today isn’t too insane, but we’re really just ramping up for tomorrow. There are tons of new products that we’re going to be showing live on CNETTV.com. I’ve only really done one First Look before, of the Nintendo Wii, so doing a bunch of First Looks on stage in front of a bunch of people should be interesting.
Ugh, didn’t sleep very well. Too excited. Then I decided to wear a wool sweater, which was pretty dumb (the lights at the booth get really hot). More later, I’ve gotta go drink a Red Bull.
OK, everything is packed, the kitties have enough food and water to last them until Tuesday (when Ryan flies back to SF to go to Macworld, after which he flies back to Vegas for the rest of CES), the oven is definitely turned off… yup. It’s Go Time.
I’ll be blogging as much as possible here during the show, and I should also have some other goodies for you. Hopefully, that will NOT include video of myself getting hammered and telling Bill Gates, “I’ll show YOU an operating system!” Just kidding. Drinking and Vegas seem to go hand in hand, but the last thing in the world that you want to be is hungover.
More later! If you’re in Vegas, come say hi at the CNET booth (at the entrance of the South Hall). We’ll be recording live Buzz Out Loud there everyday at 12:30ish. BYE!
