I’m joining Team CNET Networks for the AIDS Walk on July 15th in Golden Gate Park! It’s a 10k walk, and I’m trying to raise $1000 for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. If you’d like to sponsor me, click here or on the image below!
UPDATE:
HOLY COW!! I hit my goal in 3 hours!! You guys are seriously the best. Thank you so much ![]()
June is going to be one of my busiest months ever (and here I thought March was… silly me!). Here’s a rundown:
2nd Annual Denver New Media Summit:
Tomorrow I’ll be on a panel with Brad Feld of the Foundry Group, Phil Weiser of CU Law School, and J.B. Holston of Newsgator. Should be an interesting discussion on the future of media! Also, it’s my first time in Denver (other than the airport, that is).
Pixelodeon:
This is going to be a really fun event down in LA! I’m curating a selection of technology videos with Bre Pettis of MAKE, and edited by Eric Rey. Our section is called “D.I.Y. with a Side of Robots.”
Utah New Media Conference:
Ryan and I will both be speaking at this event, with a keynote address by Robert Scoble. I don’t know too much about this one, but it sounds like it’ll be a lot of fun!
Phew! I better start collecting some frequent flier miles soon!
I went down to Maker Faire on Saturday, and it was great. It was also my one year anniversary of shooting video for CNET, which really made me think about how things have changed since then (like long hair, I kind of miss that…). But anyway, we shot tons of great video which should be going up today and tomorrow, including a hilarious Crave that will air on Friday.
As always, Scott from Laughing Squid has awesome photographic evidence of the event, and links to more.
Today is 24 Hours of Flickr, and so Ryan and I went around and took pictures in the beautiful weather. Today was also Free Comic Book Day! I got some of those too.
Tonight is Spiderman 3 - I’m a little worried, I heard it was pretty terrible. Careful, there might be spoilers in the link. I hope that it’s at LEAST entertaining.
