Game of Thrones Opening – Metal Edition
7How awesome is this cover of the Game of Thrones opening music? It was done by a sound designer, Roger Lima, and posted on his website WhiteNoise Lab. I think it really emphasizes the brutal undertones of the series and it also gives me MAJOR CHILLS every time I hear it! Nice work! \m/ \m/
And here it is set to the actual opening credits:
How much are you loving the show so far? I made a little tribute to Hodor today on Twitter, and the actor (Kristian Nairn) liked it! Kind of made my week.

We’ve also been recapping Game of Thrones on Sword and Laser a lot lately, so check it out!

Sword and Laser meet up!
7
With the opening of The Golden Compass this Friday, I thought it would be appropriate to have a movie meet up for members of The Sword and Laser book club! It was the first book that we read together, and so it seems fitting that we all go see how well they adapted the book to film. Anyone is welcome, but I’m theming it for S&L members.
I’m also trying to get a dinner thing set up beforehand. I’ll give out more details tomorrow, probably. Here’s the info for the movie:
The Golden Compass
10:30 PM, Dec. 7th
AMC Loews Metreon 16
101 4th St., San Francisco, CA
Hope to see you there! If you aren’t in the Bay Area, go see it anyway so we can discuss it in the forums!
Like, reading? You mean actual BOOKS?
18So Tom Merritt and I have started a little science fiction and fantasy-themed book club, called The Sword and Laser. Just a fun thing to do on the side, but it’s really picking up some good steam! We have about 90 members or so on our Ning page, and we’ve announced the first book, The Golden Compass (one of my favorites, and especially appropriate considering the upcoming movie).
Should be a lot of fun; yes, I realize how incredibly dorky it is. Thank you.
