We’ve launched the CNET TV blog, finally! It’s where you go to find out what new projects we’re working on, give suggestions, hear about the weird stuff that happens around here all the time, and even discover fascinating new trivia facts about the hosts (did you know Tom Merritt likes corn chips? I didn’t). We’ve only got a few posts up there for far, but it’ll be growing quickly!
UPDATE: Blarg. Comments on that blog are in the works. If you have an idea for my post here, feel free to comment!
G4 was really fun yesterday! Everyone was really nice, and I think it was a good show. Yes, there was a little flub in the prompter as some of you noted (hence the awkward pause… ugh, that hurt) but I think we recovered it ok. Dude, getting hair, makeup and wardrobe done frakin’ ROCKS! I wish we could get someone at CNET to do that, but maybe I should just learn to do my makeup better myself… they have classes for that kind of stuff, right? Anyhow, I’m looking forward to going back next Friday too. I just hope my flight doesn’t get delayed like last night and leave me sitting at LAX until 11:40 PM. That was a little annoying.
But anyway, we finally got Guitar Hero 2 at the house, and so we’ve done nothing but play since I’ve been back. Ryan has had more time to practice, so he’s doing a little better. I would think with my mad air guitar skills that I’d be better, but give me some time! The game is amazing though, it’s a ton of fun.
I swear we’re going to podcast today - but not until I get some food in me. More later!
I thought I wasn’t going to be traveling much this month, but it turns out I’m going to LA tonight (and next Friday as well) to shoot two episodes of Free $tuff! So look for it live on G4 at 10 PM ET and PT! I’m a little nervous, but also excited to meet Morgan Webb, Blair Butler, and everyone. Should be a lot of fun, hope you guys can check it out!
Oh, as for the lolcats… I’ll give them until Sunday at midnight before I close the polls!
This past month has been insane, but now I’m happy to report that I won’t be leaving the state again until the end of June! Hooray! Traveling can be fun, though, and I have to say that I found CTIA (in Orlando) to be much easier on me than SXSW was. There were probably a lot of factors, but I think it mostly had to do with having a little downtime before getting thrown right into the fray of shooting and podcasting.
Speaking of podcasting, I’ll be shooting a video TWiT at Zeum (at the Moscone Center) here in SF on Friday afternoon. It’s not going to be open to the general public, but look for the video on TWiT.tv next week. Also, Ryan and I will be recording our first podcast together this weekend! We have a name, but you’ll just have to wait and see. It’s more for our amusement than anything else, so don’t expect it to be as formulaic as BOL or as detail-oriented as the Engadget podcast. Well, maybe Ryan will still be as detail-oriented, but he’s just smart like that.
