ABC went a-ok

My ABC segment has finally come out, and I didn’t sound like too much of a dork. Which is good. Although, I really like how they transcribed me, re: Facebook:

“And it’s segmented by college so you’re not going to bump into people from other schools so you can collaborate on projects and find out who that cute boy in their math class is and it’s kind of a closed community.”

When you take a phrase out of a longer ramble, it doesn’t make as much sense. Apparently I also speak without punctuation. Hah!

From now on I will write the way I talk so that you can’t tell where one sentence ends and the other begins and then you will really get a feel for how I communicate to people on a day to day level and so that’s it I hope I do better next time but I’m much happier with the piece than I originally thought I would be so that’s pretty good I guess.

P.S. The new iMacs and Mac minis have come out today. Ryan and I tried to get to the Apple Store this morning to take pictures, but they had the audacity to not be open at 8:45 AM. Bastards!

Prizefight!

My video Prizefight on CNET has done really well, and so I’m going to be doing them almost weekly! What are some products you would want to see “duke it out to the death?” Anything, as long as it’s not an iPod.

Nervous, just a tad. Ok, ton.

I have my first interview on Friday, with the ABC affiliate in Philadelphia. I’m nervous, but looking forward to it!

Luckily, I know the subject matter very well: good websites for college students. They want to talk about a piece that CNET put together here. So if you’re in Philly, check it out!

SoaP roundup

So, last night we finally got to go to the premiere of Snakes on a Plane at the AMC Theatres on Van Ness, here in San Francisco. We got there really early (in fact, there was no one there at 8pm for the 10pm showing), but it was fun to see everyone begin to arrive. Tom, Molly and I talked to people in the line before and after the showing, and we even got to meet a few BOL listeners!

The movie itself was something else. I’m not very good with scary movies, but since everyone was so into it (yelling, shouting, hissing…) it made the whole experience a ton of fun. I handled the gore aspect ok, no panic attacks or anything.

Today was a bit of hell, since I was at work until 4:30am editing the videos with Ariel, our camera guy/editor. But I think the final product was worth it. I’m ready to move on with my life, away from SoaP. Not that it wasn’t fun, but I think I’m pretty spent.

Did you see the movie? Was it everything you hoped and more?
